About The studio
Small tools, built to last a whole year
Tidewick is a small, independent studio that makes free spreadsheet templates for people who run things: office managers, small business owners and the one person on the team who ends up "doing HR".
Why the name?
Tides come and go on a schedule, and a wick does a small job steadily for a long time. That's what we want from a good spreadsheet: it runs on your schedule, every payday or every month, and quietly gets the numbers right.
How we work
- Problem first. Each product starts from a real problem people describe, like balances that jump back to the cap or files that need macros. We note which ones we're fixing.
- Original design. Layouts, formulas, guides and page copy are our own. We don't copy other template makers or repackage PLR content.
- Tested before release. We recalculate the workbook in LibreOffice Calc and check the results against a separate model. We name the apps we've tested in. Anything we haven't tested yet, which for now includes Excel and Google Sheets, is labelled as untested.
- Open about AI. We use AI tools to research, draft and build. A person reviews each product before it's published, and every product page explains how it was made.

Right now every template is free. Each product page has direct download links: no account, no email, no payment.
